Dog Training Classes at Cascades Humane Society
Cascades Humane Society is excited to be offering 6-week dog training classes! Classes are held in the Community Room at CHS. Please see below for upcoming training classes and to register.
What to Expect
Adult Dog Classes (6 months & older): Learn how to work with your dog on basic manners such as waiting at doors, come & leashing up, loose-leash walking & attention, leave it, meet & greets, stay, settle, waiting for food bowl, and more. By the end of the course, the bond with your dog will have grown and they will have learned a new set of manners! Class with instructions on how to continue implementing what you have learned are sent home after every class.
Puppy Classes (Under 6 Months): You and your puppy will be learning all about basic skills and important socialization. By the end of the course, your puppy will learn (but not be limited to) “sit”, “down”, and “stay” as well as feel extra confident and socialized. Watch as your bond with your puppy grows! You will be sent home after each class with instructions on how to continue implementing what you have learned.
Sessions will be an hour long and meet each week on a specified day and time determined by the training class you are enrolled in.

Dog Training Class Requirements
Vaccines
Age-appropriate vaccines are required in order to attend training classes at CHS as your dog will come into contact with other dogs in the class. Vaccination records will need to be provided on the first day of class.
- Puppy Class REQUIRED Vaccines: At least two distemper combination shots WITH lepto (all puppies) & a rabies vaccine (if puppy is 4 months or older).
- Adult Dog Class REQUIRED Vaccines: At least two distemper combination shots WITH lepto & a rabies vaccine.
Contract
You will be asked to sign a contract in order to attend the dog training classes at CHS. A contract will be sent in our welcome email to you AFTER you register. Failure to sign this contract/waiver will result in termination from the training course you registered for.
What to Bring to Dog Training Classes
- FLAT collar
- 4-6 foot leash
- At least 100 pieces of your dog’s kibble
- Dog’s bed or mat, no larger than approximately 4’x5′
- Optional but encouraged: a treat pouch
Extra Things to Know Prior To Arrival
- A welcome email will be sent to you with a contract and an informational packet after registration. Please give us 1-2 business days to send you your contract and informational packet.
- NO prong/poke/choke or electric shock collars will be permitted. Flat collars only.
- CHS reserves the right to decline services based on eligibility and behavior. In the event you are unable to attend one of our classes based on our discretion, you will be refunded the full amount.
- If you are unable to attend any of the classes you signed up for, a refund or partial refund will not be offered. Please be sure you are able to attend each individual training class during the 6-week period.
