Foster for Cascades Humane Society

If you love pets but are not ready to adopt, opening your home as a foster for Cascades Humane Society is a great way to help out! In fact, fostering is flexible enough for most lifestyles. By offering your time and home to an animal in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent home.

How it Works

As a foster, you provide a temporary place for the animal(s) to live, plus water, exercise, and lots of love. In turn, Cascades Humane Society will provide you with food, supplies, veterinary care, and any guidance you may need!

Most Common Foster Needs

  • Kittens/Puppies(Bottle Fed)
    • Please keep in mind that young kittens and puppies need to be bottle-fed about every 4 hours.
  • Mother Cat/Dog and Kittens/Puppies
  • Sick/Injured Cat or Dog
  • Adult Cat or Dog
  • Special Needs

As a limited-intake shelter, CHS can only help as many animals as we have space for. Not only does having foster homes helps us help more animals in need but it also provides them with better socialization skills, which makes them a more well-adjusted pet. In addition, foster parents learn about the pet’s personality, likes, and dislikes so that he/she can be better matched to the right forever home. Most importantly, pet foster parents save lives!
