Spay & Neuter Assistance Program
Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Assistance Program – “SNAP”
Cascades Humane Society offers low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to the public. Done in-house by our own vet, Dr. Sarah Patrias, the procedures are minimally invasive and your pet goes home the same day. We have recently added new services, such as vaccines and tests, as well as dental services. Please note that all prices are subject to change.

Scheduling Your SNAP Appointment
- The cost of the spay/neuter surgery depends on the gender of your pet and for dogs, the size of the dog.
- CHS requires that your pet have an up-to-date rabies vaccine before the surgery. If your pet has had a rabies vaccine, please send a copy with your application. If your pet does not have a rabies vaccine, CHS can give your pet one during surgery for $25.
- Pets must be at least 2 months old to have surgery.
- Please send a copy of your driver’s license or state ID to verify that you are a Jackson County resident. Print the SNAP Application by following the appropriate link below:
- Cat Application: SNAP Form Cat
- Dog Application: SNAP Form Dog
- Fill out the form and email it back to us at cmiller@chspets.org with ‘your last name, SNAP Application’ in the subject line.
- Example: Smith SNAP Application
- Our scheduler will give you a call to schedule your appointment date and time and to collect payment for the surgery over the phone.
- Payment is required before an appointment can be scheduled.
- Download and read the pre-surgery take home information here, and call us if you have any questions.
Appointment Information
- Once you schedule your appointment, you will receive an appointment card. The appointment card lists the date and time of the surgery, and some reminders for you.
- Please bring the appointment card along with your driver’s license or state ID to CHS the day of the surgery.
- If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please return the appointment card to CHS. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of the surgery or later, please note that there is an additional $10 fee to reschedule. There will be no refunds given 30 days after the appointment date.
