This spring, Cascades Humane Society is hosting this fun and creative fundraiser on April 25th and April 27th at 6 pm. You’ll have the chance to work with Stephanie from Sharp Shoppin’ and customize a door hanger/sign of your choice (images of options are shown below). Registration is required for the classes, and tickets are only $55 per person (sign up by clicking the link under this article). This event is perfect for a fun night out with friends, a unique date night, or even just a chance to meet new people while supporting a great cause! All proceeds from this event will go towards our underfunded Forgotten Felines program. This TNR program is important to the Jackson community and dedicated to spaying or neutering and vaccinating free-roaming community and feral cats against rabies. Unfortunately, the low cost of $20 per cat for the public does not come close to the actual cost of the services and we are in a deficit, unable to offer the Forgotten Felines program at this time. By joining us for “Painting for Paws,” you’ll be helping us provide crucial care for these cats in need and offer our Forgotten Felines program again! The veterinarian who performs the surgeries for the Forgotten Feline program has recently retired. Because of this, we have had to reimagine what the program looks like and how it operates. CHS has always offered the surgeries and rabies vaccine at an extremely low price to the public, at a fraction of the actual cost. We have relied on the generosity of the public and their donations, as well as the sale of the cat nip pillows, to help offset the expenses. Unfortunately, we find that the donations are considerably less than what would cover the costs and the program is at a very large deficit. With that said, we do want to continue to offer this service, as it is extremely important to us to help care for the free-roaming cats of Jackson. Attending Painting for Paws will help us to fund this important program and continue it! Extra Things to Know Prior To Arrival Join Us For a Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic!
Upon arrival, one of our volunteers will check you in. You will be asked to fill out a form of which services you would like. Payment will be accepted in person after you have filled out your form and before the services are provided.

Proceeds from Painting with Paws classes will directly support important services at CHS such as our Forgotten Felines program. To help prevent the overpopulation of feral (or wild) cats, Cascades Humane Society offers our Forgotten Feline program to Jackson County residents. The Forgotten Felines Program is a management plan in which feral cats in Jackson County are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated against rabies, and sterilized by a veterinarian. The cats are then returned to their familiar habitats under the lifelong care of a caretaker.
